The classic Medici handle
The Medici door handle came on the market around 1910. At this time the handle was only used as a front door handle. But as the door handles generally became larger and larger, the Medici door handle also used as an indoor handle - for example in large noble residences or at places where you wanted elegant door handles.
The Medici handle has since 1910 been produced by Soe-Jensen & Co., who originally casted the handles in their own foundry at Frederiksberg in Copenhagen. Today they still produce the door handles from the original molds.
The Medici door handles are made of solid brass containing a high copper amount and are casted in old sand molds, which gives the door handles an unique and attractive surface. Neither handle or rosettes are polished, which eventually gives the handle a beautiful patina.
